Actel is the leading supplier of nonvolatile low-power programmable technologies. The company’s mission is to manage power consumption from both the chip and system, leveraging the industry’s lowest power FPGAs and unique mixed-signal FPGAs to offer system designers a competitive edge. Actel’s history of reliability, coupled with its unique flash-based technology, sets them apart from traditional FPGA manufacturers. Whether you’re designing applications for consumer and portable medical market, tomorrow’s environmentally friendly data centers, industrial controls, and the automotive, space and military/aerospace markets, power matters.
The IGLOO nano Starter Kit is fully RoHS-compliant and contains a miniature modular board featuring the IGLOO nano AGLN250 device in the VQG100 package as well as a miniature low-cost programming stick (LCPS). The IGLOO nano Starter Kit is a complete package that enables you to quickly evaluate Actel's IGLOO family and prototype your design.
The Actel IGLOO devices are the industry's lowest power FPGAs. Low dynamic power consumption, combined with low static power consumption and Flash*Freeze technology, gives the IGLOO device the lowest total system power offered by any FPGA. Detailed current-monitoring capabilities of the nano starter kit enable you to directly measure this low current consumption and validate your design's performance when using IGLOO nano devices. The on-board programmer enables easy experimentation with ISP, device serialization, and FlashLock on-chip system security.
Since IGLOO nano devices are footprint-compatible with ProASIC3 nano devices, this kit can also be used to prototype designs for ProASIC3 nano, as well as the low power leader of IGLOO nano.
The IGLOO nano modular board has on-board voltage regulation, enabling you to set some of the I/O bank voltages independently. IGLOO nano devices can operate at a core voltage from 1.2 V to 1.5 V. Users may experiment with measuring current consumption of a circuit operating at 1.5 V versus a circuit operating at 1.2 V, without needing to change jumper settings during programming.
