The opto-isolated USB Smart Cable is used for safe programming and debugging of our 8-bit motor control Z8 Encore! MC™ and general-purpose Z8 Encore!® and Z8 Encore! XP® microcontrollers.
Its internal optoisolator electrically isolates the development kit circuitry from the USB Smart Cable.
It comes included with the Z8FMC16100 Motor Control Development Kit, but is also available for purchase as a stand-alone device and can be used with an application board.
The stand-alone opto-isolated USB Smart Cable is sold with our ZDS II integrated development environment (IDE) containing a full ANSI C-Compiler. Free ZDS II softare updates are available after registering the kit with Zilog online.
