NXP introduces a new range of high performance data converters with a focus on the wireless, medical and industrial market segments. This first range of products will range from 8-bits to 12-bits with sampling speeds of up to 400Msps.

Our data converters have been designed with low-power in mind, for instance, the DAC1403D160 (14-bit, 160Msps) has only 420mW of power dissipation – roughly half that of comparable DACs.

Another important aspect of our solutions is the linearity and signal to noise performance. NXP’s advanced designs and process technology give excellent performance to price ratios for our customers to choose from.

NXP understands the needs of customers to quickly evaluate products and come with a speedy design to the market, therefore, NXP offers easy to evaluate demo systems.

Included is an easy to read quick selection guide of NXP’s offering. In Q1 2009, NXP will introduce a new range of high speed, high performance converters with 14-bit resolution and speeds of 125Msps. Also available will be duals, quads and octals for the ADC range.

The ADC0801S040 is an 8-bit universal analog-to-digital converter (ADC) for video and general purpose applications. It converts the analog input signal from 2.7 V to 5.5 V into 8-bit binary-coded digital words at a maximum sampling rate of 40 MHz. All digital inputs and outputs are CMOS/Transistor-Transistor Logic (TTL) compatible. A sleep mode allows reduction of the device power consumption to 4 mW.
