Freescale Semiconductor is a global leader in the design and manufacture of embedded semiconductors for the automotive, consumer, industrial, networking and wireless markets. The company is based in Austin, Texas, and has design, research and development, manufacturing or sales operations in more than 30 countries.
Their unparalleled portfolio of power management solutions, microprocessors, microcontrollers, sensors, radio frequency semiconductors, analog and mixed signal circuits and software technologies are embedded in products used around the world.
The MCF5307 is a high performance (70 MIPS), low-cost, highly integrated microprocessor, designed for embedded control applications, which combines a Version 3 ColdFire®; processor core with a Multiply Accumulate (MAC) unit, DRAM controller, DMA controller, timers, and parallel and serial interfaces. The time required for system design and implementation is greatly reduced by packaging common system functions on chip and providing glueless interfaces to 8, 16, and 32-bit DRAM, SRAM, ROM, and I/O devices. Support for EDO DRAM and Synchronous DRAM is also present.
