Cyan's RF-Solved includes a range of low power, low cost production ready modules. These can also be provided as a reference design for system integration.
The module includes a Cyan eCOG1X microcontroller and a Micrel RadioWire transceiver. These support the Cy-Net proprietary network protocol at 433, 865, 868 and 915 Mhz.
The solution is aimed at markets such as Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) and Industrial Sensors and Controls. It removes the wires from traditional applications, for example process control and water and waste as well as enabling new applications not previously suitable with wires such as environmental, structural and machine health monitoring.
The Cyan module, (part number mCOG-RF-1X-M1), which includes an eCOG1X1A5 microcontroller, executing the wireless networking stack, and a Micrel MICRF6xx Radiowire RF transceiver, operating in the unlicensed ISM bands of 433, 868, and 915MHz depending on region. With the Micrel radio transceiver, the system can perform FHSS operation with FSK modulation. Cy-Net3 also supports alternative radio devices and modulation schemes.
It has a small (51mm x 23 mm) form factor, 5v supply / 3.3v operation, a 32 pin interface including 3 ADC inputs, 4 general purpose digital I/O, 2 x (UART or 2 digital I/O), I2C or 2 digital I/O and SPI or 4 digital I/O.
