Traditionally oriented towards the municipal luminaire market, Lumec wanted to distinguish their new series of architectural outdoor luminaires. To do this, they turned to Luxeon®.

Using LUXEON® has enabled Lumec to open up numerous opportunities by adding a colored decorative touch to the Oval Series. Their use allows architects to customize the luminaires they recommend to their customers.

Lumec used a mix of LUXEON® I Emitters and Stars, with collimators to create an illuminated ring above the luminaire.

Future Electronics were able to assist by providing a third party to produce customized pc boards, which enabled Lumec to develop it’s own 6-LED circuit board, and to create a light stack and a small decorative bollard.

Future’s technical team was also on hand to provide LUXEON® support throughout the design process, helping specifically with heat management and color consistency issues – using standards generally recognized and used in the automotive and aeronautical industries.

Lumec understand that LUXEON® represents the only way to create such bright colors while limiting energy consumption and heat production.

Due to the success of the Oval series, Lumec is already working on new, ambitious LUXEON® based products.
