Assuming the customer is driving the LUXEON® products at specified current levels, thermal management is the most important design consideration. The short-term consequences of heat on the LUXEON® LEDs include:

• Reduction of luminous flux (light output)
• Increase of wavelength (color shifts more towards red)
• Reduction of forward voltage (voltage drop across the LED)
