3. To provide Customers with advanced notification of Lead Free product transition, product obsolescence, specification changes, product identification changes, product marking changes and package labeling changes.
4. To help customers plan material requirements to ensure uninterrupted supply.

Electronics industry initiatives to introduce Lead Free/RoHS compliant products present a significant set of challenges to be faced by every one in the supply chain:

1. RoHS Legislation effective July 1st 2006 imposes Restrictions on Component Chemical Content.
2. Component termination finishes are changing.
3. Manufacturer’s part numbers may or may not change.
4. Some parts containing lead will be discontinued.
5. Various manufacturer label formats are appearing.
6. Lead free solder assembly profiles will change.
7. Various Manufacturer component marking techniques to identify chemical content and RoHS compliance are emerging.
8. Manufacturer documentation may be required as evidence of compliance.
