Welcome back to TechVentures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My name is Lazina, and I\u2019m a Technical Marketing Engineer at Future Electronics<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are interested in checking out any previous TechVentures videos, click on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@futureelectronics\/videos\">this link<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today I\u2019m going to show you how to get started with the Vespucci board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:27px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Vespucci is a simple demonstration board designed by our very own Future Electronics System Design Center in partnership with ST Microelectronics. It features STMicroelectronics\u2019 low power Teseo-LIV4F standalone module, which is an easy-to-use GNSS module embedding the Teseo IV single die standalone positioning receiver IC, which works simultaneously on multiple constellations (GPS\/Galileo\/Glonass\/BeiDou\/QZSS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Vespucci board is implemented in the mikroBUS\u2122 format for maximum expandability. I will plug my Vespucci board into the headers and plug this end of the cable into my laptop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;Next, we need to download Teseo-Suite Pro, which is a PC software tool to manage, configure and evaluate the performances of the Teseo GNSS family. I will move my board closer to a window, and look at that, immediately I can see the satellites in view, the bands, and the information on the signal level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"624\" height=\"337\" src=\"https:\/\/www.futureelectronics.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Picture9.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4781\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.futureelectronics.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Picture9.png 624w, https:\/\/www.futureelectronics.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Picture9-300x162.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 624px) 100vw, 624px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The icon at the bottom of the form indicates which protocol is used by the device, either RTCM protocol or NMEA protocol. This window that\u2019s open in the back is the sky view form. This shows the current azimuth and elevation of satellites used for the fix, this feature is only available in NMEA protocol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The map view form shows the current position of the device on map.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"624\" height=\"333\" src=\"https:\/\/www.futureelectronics.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Picture10.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4782\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.futureelectronics.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Picture10.png 624w, https:\/\/www.futureelectronics.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Picture10-300x160.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 624px) 100vw, 624px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The NMEA monitor is accessed by clicking this icon: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"48\" height=\"53\" src=\"https:\/\/www.futureelectronics.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Picture11.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4783\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A form opens up like so:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There\u2019s a filter functionality on the left, message viewer in the middle, the script editor in the top middle, decoding panel on the right. So if I double click on the line here, the content of the message is decoded in the panel on the right. The default view displays all the messages that have not been filtered. The thermometers are used as a cold start, warm start and hot start button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"624\" height=\"292\" src=\"https:\/\/www.futureelectronics.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Picture12.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4784\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.futureelectronics.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Picture12.png 624w, https:\/\/www.futureelectronics.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Picture12-300x140.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 624px) 100vw, 624px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I wanted to mention that the functions offered by the Teseo tool can be divided into two main areas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\">\n<li>Viewer mode: this decodes and displays some views of NMEA or RTCM protocol.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Test plan mode: this allows the module to write and run scripts on ST GNSS receivers.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>This is only a brief overview of the many functionalities and capabilities of the Teseo-Suite Pro.
