FLASH is a type of non-volatile Memory device, meaning data is not lost when power is removed. FLASH is the most widely used type of memory device and it is split into two main categories: NOR and NAND. NOR FLASH offers faster read speeds and random-access capabilities, making it suitable for code storage and execution. The accepted “rule of thumb” (which can vary based on the application) is that TLC NAND is good for up to 500 cycles, MLC for up to 3,000 cycles, PseudoSLC (or SLC-Lite as it is sometimes called) will work well up to 20,000 cycles and SLC NAND will be good for 60,000 cycles.
