ON Semiconductor AR0144CS Module Enables Rapid Development of Prototypes
ON Semiconductor has introduced a ready-made module which enables OEMs to accelerate the design of prototypes based on its AR0144 1Mpixel global-shutter image sensor.
Part of the ON Semiconductor IAS family of modules, the new MOD-AR0144CSSM090110 module offers standard connectors and layout configuration, and provides one-time programmable memory.
Based on Fast 1Mpixel Digital Image Sensor, the AR0144CS module is compatible with evaluation systems for image-signal processing offered by ON Semiconductor. It has a 9mm x 30mm footprint, and is 6.9mm high.
The ON Semiconductor AR0144 is a 1/4-inch digital image sensor with an active pixel array of 1280px (H) × 800px (V). It incorporates an innovative, 3µm global-shutter pixel design which is optimized for the accurate capture of fast-moving scenes. It can capture 720p high-definition video at a rate of 60 frames/s.
The sensor produces clear, low-noise images of both dim and bright scenes. It provides sophisticated camera functions such as:
- Automatic exposure control
- Row-skip mode
- Column-skip mode
- Pixel binning
- Video and single-frame modes
The AR0144, which is programmable through a simple two-wire serial interface, produces clear, sharp digital pictures.
The new AR0144 module may be purchased in production volumes from Future Electronics with the part number FM10FF-724H.
The evaluation kit for the AR0144 module includes an AGB1N0CS Demo 3 baseboard and an IAS1-ADPTR-DM3D1-GEVB adaptor board.
