Ac-input LED driver provides robust performance in rail trackside equipment

RECOM has released the RACV22-24SW, a 24 V-output LED driver which provides long service life in outdoor control gear for trackside lighting and other infrastructure applications.

The RECOM RACV22-24SW is a constant-voltage, ac-input LED driver for use trackside in stationary railway equipment. It is particularly suitable for the low-level track lighting (nGgB) requirements of the DB InfraGO company in Germany. It is also a valuable product for powering sensors or control units. 

 

Manufacturers of trackside equipment are looking for reliability and long service life: the RACV22-24SW meets these requirements by providing a rugged design, a high input surge-current rating, a comprehensive set of protection features, and an IP65 environmental rating.  

 

The input is Class II rated, with power factor correction and an input-voltage range of 176 V to 264 V ac. The driver provides a regulated 24 V dc output. Conversion efficiency is higher than 87% at the full 22 W load, allowing for operation across an ambient-temperature range of -30°C to 50°C without derating.  

 

The full reinforced isolation of the driver meets the standard requirements for lamp control gear and luminaires, and the product complies with rail standards governing EMC. 

 

The RACV22-24SW dimensions are 294 mm x 76 mm x 40 mm.
