ECS Inc ECX-2236 Crystals

Compact, surface-mount crystals offer stable performance in RF applications

The ECX-2236 from ECS Inc. is a family of surface-mount crystals, in a standard 2.5 mm x 2.0 mm x 0.55 mm ceramic package, which are ideal for use in Bluetooth®, LoRaWAN®, and other wireless networking systems. The ECX-2236 crystals are available in five frequency ranges and equivalent series resistance (ESR) values:
  • 12 MHz to 16 MHz, 150 Ω maximum ESR
  • 16 MHz to 20 MHz, 80 Ω maximum ESR
  • 20 MHz to 30 MHz, 60 Ω maximum ESR
  • 30 MHz to 35 MHz, 50 Ω maximum ESR
  • 35 MHz to 80 MHz, 40 Ω maximum ESR

Feature options include:

  • Frequency tolerance at 25°C, which can be specified at ±10 ppm, ±15 ppm, ±20 ppm, ±25 ppm, or ±50 ppm
  • Frequency stability over the operating-temperature range, which can be specified at ±10 ppm, ±15 ppm, ±20 ppm, ±25 ppm, ±30 ppm, ±50 ppm, or ±100 ppm
  • Standard load capacitance of 8 pF or 10 pF, with other options available

The standard operating-temperature range is -20°C to 70°C, with an extended temperature-range option of -55°C to 125°C.


  • 5 pF maximum shunt capacitance
  • 100 µW maximum drive level
  • ±5 ppm maximum aging at 25°C in first year
