ROHM Semiconductor has released the BM2SC12xFP2-LBZ, a series of AC-DC converter ICs for auxiliary power supplies in industrial applications, in a new surface-mount package which offers high creepage and clearance distances.
These ICs integrate a 1,700V Silicon Carbide (SiC) MOSFET with a quasi-resonant controller to offer an efficient power-conversion solution in a compact TO-263-7L package. The integrated MOSFET benefits from the excellent switching and conduction properties of the SiC material, and features low on-resistance of just 1.12Ω.
The package is particularly suitable for applications with high creepage and clearance requirements: clearance between pins is 7.33mm, and board creepage distance is 6.89mm. Quasi-resonant operation produces low EMI emissions, to enable implementation of the device in noise-sensitive applications.
The BM2SC12xFP2-LBZ converters are covered by ROHM’s longevity policy which provides for long-term supply to industrial customers.
The BM2SCQ123T-EVK-001 evaluation board supplies a 24V/2A output from an input in a range between 300V and 900V DC.
