This letter is to inform you of the product status changes in the TDK MLCC catalog for three specific groups of part numbers: [1] End Of Life (EOL), [2] Not Recommend for New Design (NRND), [3] Mass Production. 1. End Of Life (EOL) - SEE ATTACHED PART LIST.The products listed in Table 1 have been revised from Production to End of Life (EOL) with Last Time Buy dates established below. In most cases EOL addresses the natural decline in market sales/profitability, but may identify a consolidation of the product portfolio as well. Unfortunately, some of the items do not have alternative; however, TDK is committed to working closely with you to minimize any impact this change may have. 2. Not Recommend for New Design (NRND) - PROCESSED ON FUTURE ELECTRONICS PCN 70871 (NOT RECOMMENDED)The part numbers in Table 2 are revised from Production to Not Recommended for New Design (NRND). NRND is a production status classification that indicates a part number is approaching the end of its product life cycle. It is not EOL, rather NRND represents the period between Mass Production and EOL. In most cases NRND addresses the natural decline in market sales/profitability, but may identify a consolidation of the product portfolio as well. NRND items are still supported by TDK in mass production; however, long term support is not guaranteed nor are these items recommended for new designs. EOL and LTB Dates have not been established at this time; TDK will distribute separate EOL Notices when this occurs. 3. Mass Production - PROCESSED ON FUTURE ELECTRONICS PCN 70876 (REINSTATEMENT)Due to current customer demand and the global market situation, the part numbers in Table 3 have been revised from Not Recommended for New Design (NRND) to Production (or Active). TDK would like to inform you of Product Discontinuations for some Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors.The affected items were released in 2003. Thanks to capacitance increases, much smaller sized and higher rated voltage products are currently recommended on TDK's Website.TDK decided to discontinue production of the affected items, for which market demand has declined, to focus on productivity improvements for future increases in MLCC demand. - Since these capacitors are composed of only ceramics and metals and have a monolithic structure, they offer a long service life and high reliability
- Low ESL and excellent frequency characteristics allow for a circuit design that closely conforms to theoretical values
- Low self-heating and high ripple resistance due to low ESR
Applications:
- Decoupling and ripple filters for general electronic devices
- Time constant circuits, resonance circuits, coupling circuits (Products with CH or C0G temperature characteristics are recommended. Use as a replacement for film capacitors is also possible.)
