Panasonic’s new PAN1762 series is an integrated Bluetooth® 5.0 radio module which supports operation in Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) mode or a high data-rate mode.
PAN1762 is an RF module which implements the latest v5.0 of the Bluetooth short-range wireless connectivity protocol. Support for Bluetooth 5.0 – which supersedes earlier v4.2, v4.1 and v4.0 versions of the protocol – is important because it provides for interesting new use cases for the Bluetooth radio found in all mobile phones, tablets and laptops. These new uses include wireless beacons, and mesh networking (which is very exciting for the lighting industry in particular).
The PAN1762 is suitable for any embedded application which requires Bluetooth connectivity. It supports both the Low Energy mode, which provides low data rates and low power consumption, and the high data rate of 2Mbits/s required for audio streaming, for instance.
