Growth Strategies for Existing and Emerging Lighting Applications

This course will cover...


How lighting OEMs can accelerate growth in existing and emerging lighting applications by optimizing the light source selection and system design process via the latest online design tools.

 

Participants will also gain a solid understanding of the benefits and drawbacks of technology options for generating first-mover advantage in emerging applications such as lighting control (Bluetooth Mesh vs. ZigBee), human-centric lighting (optimized spectrum, tunable white), horticulture lighting (white vs. purple LED systems) and UV purification lighting (275nm vs. 405nm).

 

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the available services for managing a growing lighting business to take full advantage of the opportunities in both existing and emerging lighting applications.
  • Explore and evaluate various design tools for general lighting, horticulture lighting and UV lighting where there will be a hands-on element for course participants.
  • Understand how different LED technologies can be leveraged for meeting various performance targets for flux, efficacy and lumen maintenance as well as how to make optimal trade-off decisions
  • Understand the knowledge and process that is required to target emerging applications such as lighting control, human-centric, horticulture and UV lighting.
