What is an Amplifier?

An amplifier is used in order to increase the power of a signal. This is done by using energy from a power supply and controlling the output to match the signal input’s shape but with larger amplitude. Amplifiers can be specified according to their input and output properties. Amplifiers have some kind of gain that relates the magnitude of the output signal to the input signal.
