Eaton — ECM Common-Mode Chokes

Eaton supplies the ECM family of common-mode noise-filtering choke coils in both surface-mount and through-hole configurations, providing attenuation over a 100 MHz bandwidth for noise-sensitive power supplies and dc-dc converters.

There are three series of the surface-mount ECMS common-mode chokes:

• ECMS1V0704 measuring 8.0 mm x 6.5 mm x 3.8 mm
• The ECMS1V0905 measuring 10 mm x 7.5 mm x 4.8 mm
• The ECMS1V1306 measuring 13 mm x 11.3 mm x 6.4 mm

The three through-hole ECMT common-mode choke series are:

• ECMT1V17 measuring 17 mm x 12 mm x 17 mm vertical or 17 mm x 16 mm x 14 mm horizontal
• ECMT1V20 measuring 20 mm x 17.5 mm x 23 mm vertical or 19.5 mm x 19.5 mm x 17 mm horizontal
• ECMT1V24 measuring 24 mm x 20 mm x 29 mm vertical

Metallization on the ferrite core of the ECMT chokes enables them to withstand shock and provide reliable operation over a temperature range from -40°C to 125°C. A closed magnetic circuit design reduces leakage flux and EMI. The iron-based metal material core provides a large saturation current. The ECMT products are available with inductance values up to 85 mH.

The ECMS chokes are footprint-compatible with other widely used common-mode chokes. Dc resistance is as low as 2 mΩ. The ECMS chokes are available with impedance values ranging from 70 Ω to 3,000 Ω. Current ratings range from 0.9 A to 15 A.
