FTM / Intelligent Lighting / Renesas — CN252 Voice-Activated DALI Lighting Control System
Renesas has introduced an application design framework which shows how an environment-aware, voice-activated lighting control system which complies with the requirements of the DALI-2 lighting interface standard can be implemented with components from Renesas, including parts from Dialog Semiconductor, which is now part of Renesas.
The CN252 framework is built around the Renesas RL78/I1A, a microcontroller which provides a rich set of functions for intelligent control of tunable white light outputs. It includes up to six channels of PWM control to give fine-tuned control of dimming and color.
The RL78/I1A capabilities take advantage of the DALI-2 interface, which enables network-based lighting control for building automation applications which are designed for compliance with IEC 62386 version 2 when used with suitable hardware.
