Haptic actuator generates vibrations in noisy automotive environments

Vishay supplies a robust haptic actuator which generates vibrations for clear tactile feedback in noisy environments such as the center console display in passenger vehicles.

 

The IHPT-1411AF solenoid construction provides high-impulse vibrations when mounted behind a display or other user interface device. The actuator can drive up to a 0.5 kg load to acceleration of up to 6 g with a 12 V/5 ms pulse.

 

An electromagnetic device which converts electrical energy into linear motion, the compact IHPT-1411AF consists of two pieces, both with mounting holes: a stationary U core and a moving I-bar. This makes for easy implementation in touchscreen or touch-button applications. 

 

The actuator is supplied as standard with a lead termination of dipped 100% tin solder. Customer-specific connectors are available on request.
