Diodes Incorporated AP22653Q Power Switch

Adjustable current-limiting power switch protects automotive sub-systems

Diodes Incorporated has introduced the AP22653Q, a programmable power switch which provides a controlled and protected power path for automotive sub-systems.

Rated for continuous load currents of up to 1.5 A, the device is ideal for protecting a vehicle’s USB ports or and the supply rails to electronic control units (ECUs), as well as in-vehicle infotainment and telematics sub-systems.

Offering accuracy of ±7% at high current levels, the current-limit threshold for the AP22653Q can be set anywhere between 125 mA and 1,735 mA via an external resistor. The rise and fall times of the power switch are controlled to minimize current surges when turned on and off. In addition, the 5 μs short-circuit response time helps to avoid situations that would require a system shut-down and restart.

The AP22653Q features on-resistance of 55 mΩ, which minimizes power loss and voltage drop at high load currents. Built-in protection features include reverse current, over-temperature, and under-voltage lock-out.

The AP22653Q power switch is qualified to AEC-Q100 Grade 1, manufactured in IATF 16949 certified facilities, and is PPAP capable.
