The RAA211651 from Renesas is an integrated synchronous buck regulator which supplies an output of up to 5 A from a wide input-voltage range of 4.5 V to 60 V.
Providing an adjustable output voltage down to as low as 0.8 V, the RAA211651 draws a very low quiescent current of just 10 μA at an input voltage of 24 V. The constant on-time modulation scheme results in high efficiency in all conditions, especially when supplying a light load.
The RAA211651’s switching frequency varies with the load. At light load, the switching frequency drops to reduce switching losses. With internal compensation, the regulator works in diode emulation mode, helping to limit losses in light-load conditions.
To limit the inrush current at start-up, the RAA211651 applies a 2 ms fixed internal soft-start time. The soft-start time can also be set by an external capacitor.
The RAA211651 provides a programmable start-up delay time to enable power sequencing.
