FTM / Connectivity / Littelfuse — KSC2 Tactile Switches
The surface-mount KSC2 series switches from Littelfuse are IP67-rated, 3.5 mm high momentary-action tactile switches featuring a soft actuator. The switches are available in several models and provide various options for electrical lifespan. The switch footprint is 6.2 mm x 6.2 mm.
The KSC2 tactile switches offer superior durability, and provide clear tactile feedback, making it easier for users to know when an input has been registered.
The KSC2 DCT tactile switches have common, normally closed (NC), and normally open (NO) pins. If the designer chooses to use both NC and NO circuitry, a changeover signal is provided, which allows the designer to use both circuits to define the logic of the signal and take actions based on the defined logic.
A valuable feature of the KSC2 switches is the tightly specified electrical height, making the switches suitable for use in high-precision board assembly processes. The specification guarantees reliable electrical connections by precisely defining the distance between the actuation point and the bottom contact. By tightly specifying the electrical height of the KSC2 switches, Littelfuse enables manufacturers to confidently apply reduced tolerances in board assemblies.
