Miniaturized FAKRA coaxial connector gives 75% space savings

MATE-AX connectors from TE Connectivity support standard coax cable types

The MATE-AX automotive connector system from TE Connectivity (TE) provides a space-saving solution for high-frequency data transmission in vehicles. The MATE-AX miniaturized FAKRA coaxial connector, which is robust and resistant to EMI, is suitable for both analog signal and digital data transport.

 

The MATE-AX connector system offers high packaging density: design teams can gain up to 75% space savings and 34% weight savings by replacing a standard FAKRA connector with a MATE-AX connector.

 

High pin counts are offered by the MATE-AX connector system. Headers, housings and terminals are available in straight and angled versions. In addition, the system supports familiar cable types, including automotive-grade coax cables similar to RTK-031/RG-174, enabling easy integration into existing architectures.

 

TE can also supply custom MATE-AX cable assemblies.
