Vishay — SurfLight Portfolio of IR LED Emitters

The SurfLight™ portfolio of infrared (IR) LED emitters from Vishay includes a choice of devices which operate at peak wavelengths of 850 nm, 890 nm, or 940 nm.

The LEDs are based on gallium aluminum arsenide surface-emitter chip technology which offers high radiant intensity, high optical power, and high speed. For instance, the VSMY5940X01 produces 13 mW/sr radiant intensity at a drive current of 100 mA. Rise and fall times are 5 ns.

The Vishay emitters are housed in a low-profile 0805 surface-mount package which measures 2 mm x 1.25 mm x 0.8 mm.
