GCT — aquanex Micro USB Connectors

The GCT aquanex^® micro-USB connectors are IP67-rated both mated and unmated, making them ideal for a range of applications that need to function reliably in wet or dusty environments. They are also ideal for medical devices which require frequent steam sterilization, and for wearable devices.

The connectors consist of an injection-molded stainless steel shell fitted with a silicone seal. A single piece, this shell improves the structural integrity of the connector. Every connector is individually tested in a vacuum to validate its performance.

Waterproof to 1 m, the aquanex connectors can also withstand shocks up to 30 g and up to 2000 Hz of vibration without disconnecting or suffering damage. These specifications make the connectors ideal for charging and connectivity applications in harsh or outdoor conditions.

The aquanex connectors are available in two versions: the USB3500 is a horizontal mid-mount unit, and the USB3505 is for top mounting. Both connector types have a current rating of 1.8 A and an overall height of 4.90 mm.

The top-mount version has a profile of 2.95 mm above the PCB, while the mid-mount has a height profile of just 1.425 mm above the board. Both versions attach securely to the PCB via four mounting posts to reduce assembly time.
