WAGO — 879-3000 Energy Meters

WAGO Energy Meters

Slim and space-saving in control cabinets

WAGO has introduced a family of energy meters which provide a new way for building or factory operators to monitor power consumption. Data from energy monitoring enables users to optimize power usage. The products, which comply with MID directive 2014/32/EU, can also be used for billing purposes.

The energy meters use the WAGO Push-in CAGE CLAMP® technology which provides a lever to make cable terminations quick and easy.

The 879-3000 and 879-3020 meters are just 72 mm wide when used for direct energy measurement. The 379-3040 version for use with current transformers is even slimmer at only 35 mm. These slim meters reduce space usage in a control cabinet.

In addition to measuring values for active and reactive energy, the WAGO energy meters also record the mains frequency, current, voltage, and power for all phases. All of these values can be viewed on a large, illuminated touchscreen display integrated in the meter.

The WAGO energy meters provide multiple channels for external communication: the designer can select from an M-Bus or a Modbus® interface. Two S0 interfaces are also available for both energy directions, with an adjustable pulse rate.

The meter can be configured with an app which connects via a Bluetooth® wireless link. Connecting the meter to the WAGO cloud enables the user to see the measured values, and so to optimize energy consumption. Predictive maintenance and process optimization are additional potential benefits of the cloud connection.
