Inventronics has released a family of DALI-2 D4i LED drivers which provide intra-luminaire power and communications and advanced diagnostics capabilities.
The new EBS-080SxxxBT2 drivers are suitable for use in outdoor luminaries of Protection Class I and II, and can be built into indoor and outdoor fixtures. IP20-rated, the EBS-080SxxxBT2 can be used as an independent LED driver mounted outside a luminaire’s enclosure. Supplied in a Zhaga-compatible square design, the EBS-080SxxxBT2 is ideal for use in slim European streetlight designs.
At its launch, the EBS-080SxxxBT2 family was available in versions with a power rating of 40 W or 80 W. A 120 W version is expected to be available in the first half of 2022, and a 165 W version before the end of 2022.
The drivers’ DALI-2 D4i certification simplifies the implementation of intra-luminaire power distribution and communications. An integrated 16 V dc bus supplies power to the DALI interface. The D4i capability also supports the use of driver diagnostics for planned maintenance and real-time system monitoring, including accurate measurement of power consumption.
The Inventronics drivers feature convenient push terminals for simpler installation. Wireless NFC programming saves time when commissioning a new installation, and also allows luminaires to be reprogrammed safely at any time. The NFC capability also allows for easy access to diagnostic data for streamlined troubleshooting. Lifetime is calculated to be a minimum of 100,000 hours when operating at 80% load.
Protection functions include over-voltage and over-temperature protection for both the driver and the external LED array, as well as short-circuit protection and an end-of-life indicator.
