KYOCERA AVX — FPC and FFC Connectors

Flexible printed circuit (FPC) and flat flex connectors (FFC) manufactured by Kyocera AVX are narrow-pitch, low-profile devices which enable high-speed data transmission. They are available in a wide variety of types, including convenient one-touch, flip-type locking connectors, sliding zero insertion force (ZIF) types, or inexpensive non-ZIF connectors.

For lighting applications, Kyocera AVX supplies the 6288 series of right-angle FPC/FFC connectors, which have a 0.5 mm pitch. The 6288 series features a one-touch locking mechanism with a tactile click to verify engagement. The connector prevents contact deviation caused by oblique insertion.

Lighting equipment manufacturers can also use the 6810 series of right-angle and vertical FPC/FFC connectors, which also have a 0.5 mm pitch. The 6810 connector does not lock when only partially inserted, which means that mis-mating can be detected by automatic optical inspection (AOI) equipment.

Kyocera AVX can supply samples consisting of a PCB with connector and cable.
