Vishay — VCNT2025X01_Reflective Optical Sensor

The compact VCNT2025X01 from Vishay is a reflective infrared sensor which provides reliable detection of objects in its field of view.

The sensor’s analog output signal is triggered by detection of reflected infrared light from a nearby object. The sensor has a built-in daylight blocking filter, which greatly suppresses interfering ambient light and therefore increases the device’s signal-to-noise ratio.

Providing a proximity sensing range of up to 4.5 mm, the VCNT2025X01 is ideal for use as a position sensor or for object detection: for instance, it can be used to detect the presence of paper in printers or copy machines.

Housed in a 2.5 mm x 2.0 mm x 0.6 mm surface-mount package, the VCNT2025X01 has its light source and phototransistor arranged in the same plane.
