The STGIPQ5C60T-HZ from STMicroelectronics provides a compact, high-performance AC motor-drive circuit in a simple, rugged design which has a footprint of just 32mm x 12mm.
Part of the second series of SLLIMM™-nano (Small Low-loss Intelligent Molded Module) modules from ST, the STGIPQ5C60T-HZ is composed of six rugged trench-gate field-stop IGBTs with freewheeling diodes, and three half-bridge gate-driver ICs. It features low-EMI characteristics with optimized switching speed. The module can handle an operating current of up to 5A and has a 600V breakdown-voltage rating.
The package makes it easy to screw on a heat-sink and achieve effective thermal coupling. The module includes a completely uncommitted operational amplifier, and a comparator which can be used in a fast and efficient over-current protection circuit.
Board part number: STEVAL-IPMNG5Q
The STEVAL-IPMNG5Q board features an interface circuit, bootstrap capacitors, snubber capacitor, hardware short-circuit protection, fault-event signal, and temperature monitoring. It works in a single- or three-shunt configuration and with various current-sensing options. It also includes a Hall encoder position sensor.
