onsemi — RSL15-EVB Evaluation Board

The RSL15-EVB is a development board from onsemi for evaluating the performance and capabilities of the RSL15, a wireless system-on-chip which integrates a Bluetooth® Low Energy radio with an Arm® Cortex®-M33 core-based microcontroller.

The board features an RSL15 device, with the part number NCH-RSL15-512-101Q40-ACG, which has 512 kbytes of Flash. It is intended for use with the RSL15 software development kit.

The evaluation board is easy for developers to use. Downloading and debugging code is easy thanks to the on-board SEGGER® J-Link® technology. A JTAG debug port is accessible via the board’s 10-pin header, which gives access to all the RSL15 interfaces and GPIOs. The RSL15-EVB also offers an integrated PCB antenna with matching and filtering network, and a uFL connector for conducted RF connections.

The evaluation board demonstrates the RSL15 combination of connectivity performance, low power consumption and comprehensive security capabilities. These security features enable OEMs to protect the authenticity, integrity and confidentiality of code and data in devices connected via a Bluetooth Low Energy link.

The RSL15 supports a number of new capabilities provided by the Bluetooth 5.2 specification, including long range, higher data transmissions, and localization through detection of the angle of arrival and angle of departure of wireless transmissions.

onsemi has also developed an innovative smart sensing feature which allows the Cortex-M33 processor to remain in a deep sleep mode while continuing to monitor sensor interfaces.
