Renesas — RYZ014A Cellular Module

The RYZ014A LTE Cat-M1 IoT Module from Renesas offers designers a drop-in, pre-certified solution for cellular network connectivity in IoT devices. Use of the RYZ014A eliminates the cost and time involved in designing and certifying hardware for the relevant global markets.

The RYZ014A is the first cellular IoT module from Renesas to support the LTE Cat-M1 specification. This technology allows devices to connect directly to the internet or to other devices using existing cellular networks.

The RYZ014A supports the various RF bands used in LTE networks around the world, removing the need to create different platforms for different regions. The device has been certified compliant with all major global RF regulations. Renesas has also tested for conformance with the requirements of leading cellular network operators in North America, the Asia-Pacific region, and Europe. This means that the RYZ014A provides products with pre-certified worldwide roaming capabilities.

The module provides all the elements necessary to implement a complete LTE Cat-M1 modem; everything is contained in a single compact LGA package. The RYZ014A module also includes a proven LTE Cat-M1 protocol stack and software for remote device management and packet routing.

The device features ultra low-power consumption, drawing a current of just 1µA in power-saving mode, but is capable of providing an output power of 20dBm or 23dBm.
