The BRT series is a surface mount magnetic transducer. A transducer is exactly like a speaker and needs an external source to generate sound. The difference being a transducer has a narrow or specific frequency range. Transducers are used for series of tones that are very close in frequency. Magnetic transducers were designed to fulfill limited space requirements using lower frequency tones than traditional piezo devices.

The continuous tone BRT1209P-01 is a surface mount electro-acoustic transducer. It has a sound pressure level of 80 dB at 1.5 Volts of DC power, 30 mA current rating and 2480 Hz frequency.
