TE Connectivity Heavy Duty Connectors

Dynamic heavy-duty connectors allow for automatic assembly to cut installation costs

TE Connectivity (TE) has expanded the Heavy Duty Connectors (HDC) series to include a range of connectors with dynamic inserts. The HDC Dynamic connectors reduce cable assembly costs by allowing for the use of semi-automatic or fully automatic crimping processes.

 

Intended for use in industrial applications operating in harsh environments, the new HDC Dynamic connectors are more compact and allow for greater design flexibility than earlier models. These high-density connectors can accommodate up to 288 positions. Connector modules are available with three to 48 box-shaped contacts, and each connector can contain from one to six of these modules. This allows power, signal and data connections to be housed in different modules within a single connector.

 

The new HDC Dynamic connectors can be integrated with existing HDC products including the classic HDC HMN module connectors

 

The HDC Dynamic range uses the same contact family for wire-to-board and heavy-duty cable-to-cable connections.

 

The connector hoods and housings are available with IP20, IP65 and IP68/IP69K ingress protection ratings.
