FTM / Embedded Solutions / STMicroelectronics — STM32U3C5xx Microcontrollers
The STM32U3Cxx series of microcontrollers implements cutting-edge power-saving innovations which ease the deployment of battery-powered embedded devices, especially in remote locations.
These MCUs are designed for IoT devices that operate for extended periods without maintenance and with the limited energy from a coin cell, ambient solar or thermoelectric source. They take advantage of techniques such as near-threshold voltage technology to reduce dynamic power consumption.
In addition to energy efficiency, the STM32U3Cxx series, based on an Arm® Cortex®-M33 core running at up to 96MHz, provides robust cybersecurity features, such as onboard SHA-265 hardware accelerators and two advanced encryption standard (AES) coprocessors. In addition, attestation credentials for each production unit are provisioned by ST before leaving the factory.
The rich set of security capabilities and assets in the STM32U3Cxx series helps device manufacturers to comply with regulations such as the European Union radio equipment directive and the Cybersecurity Resilience Act.
The STM32U3Cxx series offers 15 packages from 48-pin to 144-pin, such as the STM32U3C5VIT6Q in LQFP 100 measuring 14mm x 14mm x 1.4mm, and embedding a low-power digital filter dedicated to automatic direction finder (ADF) audio signals with a filter supporting sound-activity detection.
