The Littelfuse EV1K series of automotive fuses protects high-voltage, high-current on-board applications in electric and hybrid-electric vehicles (EVs and HEVs). The fuses can also be used in off-board charging applications.
Littelfuse developed the EV1K series in response to the EV market’s transition from 500 V to 800 V batteries. The EV1K fuses are rated for 1,000 V dc, and carry current ratings ranging from 60 A to 125 A. Fuses up to 600 A are under development. All EV1K fuses have an interrupt rating of 30 kA at 1,000 V.
The compact body of the fuses measures 25 mm x 73 mm, and includes end caps with integrated bolt-down terminals. It withstands mechanical vibration and shock, increasing product life and longevity.
Littelfuse also supplies the 828 series of fuses for space-constrained automotive electronics applications such as onboard chargers and power distribution units. The 828 fuses have a 1,000 V dc maximum voltage rating, and an interrupt rating of 10 kA at 1,000 V.
