Maxim Integrated MAX14919 Quad-Channel Low-Side Switch

Quad-channel 60V load switch includes built-in ±1kV surge protection

The MAX14919 from Maxim Integrated is a quad-channel low-side load switch which offers integrated ±1kV/42Ω surge protection to provide for robust operation in industrial settings.

 

At 140mΩ per channel, on-resistance is low enough to limit conduction losses, and so to maintain high efficiency and suppress heat dissipation.

 

Accurate, resistor-settable current limiting provides guaranteed operating currents in a range between 100mA and 800mA. The four outputs can be connected in parallel to support higher load currents. The four switches are pin-controlled to allow for simple and fast switching at frequencies up to 200kHz.

 

The MAX14919 offers reverse-current detection to prevent damage caused by load-supply miswiring faults. This feature is disabled in the MAX14919A variant.

 

Inductive loads are turned off rapidly using internal high-voltage clamps. The switches are protected against short-circuits and overloads.
