The new RACM1200-V power supply from RECOM uses a special baseplate-cooled design instead of forced-air cooling. The converter is able to supply up to 1,000W of continuous power if the baseplate temperature remains below 80°C. Output can be increased to 1,200W for up to 10 seconds in boost mode, or continuously if there is additional airflow.
The single-phase AC-DC converter, which measures just 228mm x 96.2mm x 40mm, has a higher power density than any other fanless power-supply unit.
The product is IEC/EN/UL 62368-1 certified for use in industrial and IT applications, and IEC/EN/UL 60601 certified for use in medical equipment with 2x MOPP isolation and 4kV AC isolation.
The converter meets environmentally-conscious design requirements for low standby power consumption, offers efficiency exceeding 90% from 15% of full load, and complies with EMC Class B emission limits.
The RACM1200-V has a wide output-voltage range which is presettable via a DIP switch or by the unit’s digital interface. In addition, the RACM1200-V has an always-on isolated 5V/1A auxiliary supply and an adjustable 5V to 12V/1A output for an optional fan. All outputs are isolated from ground to 1.5kV AC to meet the requirements of Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) applications.
An integrated microprocessor controls the protection functions, including the constant-current limits and hiccup-mode settings, and monitors the output current, temperature and other parameters to prevent overloading.
