The SiP32419 and SiP32429 from Vishay are load switches which integrate multiple control features to simplify the design and increase the reliability of the switched circuit.
Rated for operation in a range from 6 V to 28 V, these products feature on-resistance of 56 mΩ. An internally generated gate-drive voltage ensures that on-resistance remains linear over the input-voltage range.
In addition to their basic load switch functionality, the SiP32419 and SiP32429 also feature a slew-rate control circuit: by selecting the value of an external capacitor, the designer can set the switch turn-on time with this circuit.
An over-current protection circuit continuously monitors the current through the load switch, and controls the switch impedance to limit the current to the level set by an external resistor. If the over-current condition persists for more than 7 ms, the switch shuts off automatically.
The SiP32429 has an auto-retry function after a fault shuts down the switch: the fault flag will release 150 ms after the fault condition is cleared, and the switch will automatically turn on at the programmed slew rate.
The SiP32419 behaves differently after a fault: it remains off and the fault flag remains on. The switch may be reset by toggling either the control signal on the Enable pin or the input power if the switch is not in an over-temperature fault condition.

The SiP32419EVB and SiP32429EVB demonstration boards enable the designer to evaluate the over-current protection and programmable soft-start functions of the SIP32419 and SIP32429 load switches. Power input terminals provide for easy connection to a power supply and the application’s load. The boards’ input-voltage range is from 6 V to 24 V.
