FTM / Motor Control / Littelfuse — Three-Phase Gate Driver ICs
The LF2136B and LF2388B three-phase gate driver ICs from Littelfuse are suitable for driving a half-bridge of N-channel MOSFETs or IGBTs in high-voltage, high-speed applications. Fabricated in a high-voltage process, the LF2136B and LF2388B can switch up to 600 V in bootstrap operation.
The LF2136B is rated for a peak source drive current of 200 mA. For the LF2388B, this drive-current rating is 350 mA. The outputs of the LF2136B are out of phase with their inputs. The LF2388B’s outputs are in phase with their inputs.
The logic inputs to these gate drivers are compatible with standard TTL and CMOS levels down to 3.3 V. This means that the drivers can be made to interface easily with a microcontroller or other control device. The driver outputs feature high pulse-current buffers to minimize cross-conduction.
The LF2136B and LF2388B offer numerous protection functions:
Both the UVLO and the over-current protection activate an automatic fault-clear operation, the timing of which may be adjusted with an external capacitor.
