Drivers provide precise control of BLDC motors

The BD630xx family of drivers and pre-drivers from ROHM gives motor-system designers a choice of options for drive current rating and supply voltage. An automotive version is available.

ROHM supplies a family of drivers for three-phase brushless dc (BLDC) motors.  

 

The BD63001AMUV, BD63002AMUV and BD63003MUV are three-phase BLDC motor pre-drivers which implement built-in 120° commutation logic supported by three Hall position sensors. The pre-drivers generate a driving signal from the Hall sensors and drive a PWM signal for input control. The devices operate from a nominal supply voltage of 12 V or 24 V. Housed in a 4 mm x 4 mm VQFN package, these ICs can be used in motors with a small diameter.  

 

The BD63006MUV and BD63007MUV are three-phase BLDC motor drivers with a 33 V power supply voltage rating. The BD63006MUV has a 1.5 A maximum current rating; for the BD63007MUV, this is 3 A. ROHM also supplies an AEC-Q100 qualified version, the BD63035EFV-M, which has a 1.5 A current rating, and operates from a 36 V supply.
