Vishay

Vishay WSL/WSLP Series of Power Metal Strip Current-Sense Resistors

Current-sense resistors offer low resistance values and high temperature stability

Vishay’s WSL and WSLP series of Power Metal Strip® current-sense resistors offer substantial advantages over competing thick-film, thin-film and commercial-foil resistors.

Benefiting from an all-welded construction, the Power Metal Strip resistors are ideal for all types of current-sensing, voltage-division and pulse applications. Excellent sulfur resistance makes them suitable for use in high-sulfur atmospheres.

Compared to thick-film resistors, the Vishay Power Metal Strip resistors offer superior temperature stability of as little as 75ppm, and better temperature de-rating, while they provide higher power ratings than thin-film types and are less affected by solder-joint stress. They are also not sensitive to ESD.

The Power Metal Strip resistor design is superior to commercial-foil resistor designs, offering better pulse performance and lower resistance values.

The WSL series resistors are available with resistance values ranging from 0.5mΩ to 500mΩ, and in six case sizes: 0603, 0805, 1206, 2010, 2512, and 2816. Power ratings range from 0.1W to 1.0W.

The WSLP series resistors offer higher power ratings of 0.4W to 3.0W across a range of resistance values from 0.5mΩ to 100mΩ. The resistors are supplied in five case sizes: 0603, 0805, 1206, 2010, and 2512.
