Murata MGJ2 SM DC-DC Converters

DC-DC converter module supplies isolated 2 W output for driving IGBTs or MOSFETs

Murata has introduced the MGJ2 SM series of 2 W DC-DC converter modules for gate-driving applications which offer 9 mm creepage and clearance, and a high continuous barrier withstand voltage of 2.5 kV.

The surface-mount MGJ2 SM DC-DC converters are ideal for powering the high- and low-side gate drive inputs of IGBTs and MOSFETs in half- and full-bridge circuits. A choice of asymmetric output voltages allows the power-system designer to maintain the gate-drive level required for the best system efficiency.

The continuous high isolation provided by the MGJ2 SM series makes it ideal for use in the bridge circuits found in motor drives and inverters. A high temperature rating and solid construction ensure that the product offers long service life and high reliability. The MGJ2 SM series supplies its rated power output over the industrial temperature range of -40°C to 105°C with derating, making it suitable for the harshest industrial environments.

The converters have the lowest isolation capacitance in their class at just 3 pF, minimizing the coupling of transient voltages across the isolation boundary.
