Lumileds — LUXEON HL2Z LEDs

Lumileds has introduced the LUXEON HL2Z, a high-power LED in an undomed chip-scale package (CSP), which substantially reduces lighting system costs while providing high flux density, high luminance, and precise beam control.

The single-sided LUXEON HL2Z can deliver more than 315 lm at an efficacy of more than 160 lm/W from a compact 2.3 mm² package which is just 0.36 mm high. The HL2Z LED undomed package enables fixture designers to produce precisely controlled, narrow beam angles and to increase optical efficiency.

Excellent color consistency makes the HL2Z suitable for applications requiring high quality of light indoors or outdoors, including in streetlights and stadium lighting.

The single-sided CSP can be attached directly to the PCB to increase the density of LEDs in the light-emitting surface. This also reduces system costs and cuts time-to-market as it eliminates the need for sub-mounting.

The CSP technology enhances efficiency and enables the use of high drive currents. Designers have reported savings of more than 20% when using the LUXEON HL2Z compared to competing LEDs. 

The LUXEON HL2Z emitters qualify for DesignLights Consortium (DLC) Standard or DLC Premium certification, indicating that the solutions offer high reliability and performance, and are energy efficient. The LEDs are available in multiple CCT options: 2700 K, 3000 K, 4000 K, 5000 K, 5700 K, or 6500 K.
