FTM / Security, CRA & Encryption / STMicroelectronics — STM32H573 Arm Cortex-M33 Microcontroller
Securely connected equipment needs more than application processing. It also needs a trusted boot, protected storage, firmware isolation, and controlled debug access. The STM32H573 microcontroller, based on the Arm® Cortex®-M33 core, gives embedded designers a high-performance microcontroller unit (MCU) platform with a security foundation for connected applications.
The processor runs at up to 250MHz, and combines a floating-point unit (FPU), digital signal processing (DSP) instructions, and a memory protection unit (MPU). This enables the STM32H573 to handle control, connectivity, and security tasks without adding a separate security processor.
Security support follows the trusted-based security architecture (TBSA) requirements from Arm TrustZone®. The STM32H573 enables secure boot, secure data storage, secure firmware update, and secure firmware installation during production. The flexible life-cycle scheme combines multiple protection levels with secure debug authentication. This supports development, production, field maintenance, and locked deployment without using the same access policy at every stage.
Embedded flash memory and static random-access memory (SRAM) protection mechanisms include readout protection, write protection, secure areas, and hidden protection areas. These functions help protect firmware and security assets after programming. The STM32H573 is available with 2Mb of flash memory and integrates a fast advanced encryption standard (AES) coprocessor, a secure AES coprocessor with differential power analysis (DPA) resistance, and a public-key accelerator (PKA). Active tamper detection strengthens protection in equipment exposed to physical access.
