The NCV7329 from onsemi is a fully-featured Local Interconnect Network (LIN) automotive transceiver which provides the interface between a LIN protocol controller and the physical bus wiring.
The NCV7329 conforms to the specifications of the ISO 17987−4 standard for LIN communication, and of the SAE J2602 standard. It supports data transmission rates from 1 kbit/s to 20 kbits/s at a maximum bus voltage of 42 V.
The device provides transceiver functions including TxD time-out, and integrated slope control.
The LIN bus offers a low-cost medium for transferring small amounts of data from devices such as door locks, mirrors, car seats, and sunroofs. The bus helps to reduce the amount of wiring inside the car, and is implemented using a single wire at each node.
The NCV7329 is part of the extensive onsemi range of products for in-vehicle networking on LIN and CAN buses. onsemi also supplies system basis chips (SBC) which integrate a power supply, LIN and CAN connectivity, and diagnostics functions in a single chip.
