ams OSRAM AS6223 Temperature Sensor
Ultra-small, low-power featuring best-in-class accuracy
The AS6223 from ams OSRAM is a high-accuracy digital temperature sensor designed for applications that demand a compact size, low power consumption, and precise measurements. Built with a silicon bandgap sensor, integrated ADC, and digital signal processor, it communicates via a 2-wire I²C bus, supporting up to four sensors on a single bus thanks to selectable I²C addresses.
As the latest addition to the AS62xx family, the AS6223 combines a tiny 0.82 mm × 0.82 mm 4-pin WLCSP package with industry-leading measurement accuracy. It delivers ±0.09 °C accuracy across the body temperature range (20 °C to 42 °C) and ±0.3 °C across the full -20 °C to 125 °C operating range. Its low-power design supports VDD and VBUS voltages as low as 1.2 V, making it ideal for battery-powered and portable devices.
The AS6223 is factory-calibrated with integrated linearization and traceable production testing, ensuring reliable out-of-the-box performance without additional system-level calibration. Its compact size and power efficiency make it particularly suitable for wearables, smart rings, earbuds, mobile devices, and medical monitoring patches such as diabetes care products.
Different AS6223 variants provide flexibility in I²C addresses, supply voltages, and reel packaging to support multiple devices on a bus and high-volume production requirements.
