Robust wire-to-board connector ideal for automotive applications

The Hirose Electric GT50 connectors save space in a range of automotive applications that are exposed to high temperatures. Strong retention and locking facilitate fast and reliable assembly.

Hirose Electric has introduced the GT50 series of compact, high-temperature wire-to-board connectors for use in automotive applications.

 

The GT50 series connectors reduce the mounting area in PCB designs thanks to the combination of compact dimensions, a 1 mm pitch, and height of just 5.97 mm. The gold-plated GT50 series can withstand operating temperatures up to 125°C.

 

These connectors feature a terminal lance which prevents the contact from coming out of its housing cavity. This produces a minimum retention force of 12 N without the need for a secondary lock, easing assembly and handling of wiring. In addition, the GT50 has high locking strength and PCB peel-off strength, making it a robust connector for use in internal connections.

 

The two-point contact is enclosed between two springs to provide a reliable connection, touching both sides of the header contact where the direction of the heat shrinkage is most likely to occur. This improves contact reliability by minimizing the impact of heat shrinkage.
